Got It Like That

I spent summers in high school working for our local Baskin-Robbins, so it was pretty surreal to once again work with this great brand. Bringing a fresh and new youthful voice to an iconic brand, we embraced all the joy and fun that comes with eating ice cream! The goal was to stand out and bring an edgier vibe than what the brand is traditionally known for.

Got It Like That

Troy : Like you? I go outta here every morning, I bust my butt 'cause I like you? You're about the biggest fool I ever saw. A man is supposed to take care of his family. You live in my house, feed your belly with my food, put your behind on my bed because you're my son. It's my duty to take care of you, I owe a responsibility to you, I ain't got to like you! Now, I gave everything I got to give you! I gave you your life! Me and your Mama worked out between us and liking your black ass wasn't part of the bargain! Now don't you go through life worrying about whether somebody like you or not! You best be makin' sure that they're doin' right by you! You understand what I'm sayin'?

Troy : When he turned to face me, I knew why the devil never come and get him 'cause he was the devil himself. I don't know what happened. I woke up, laying there by the creek, and Blue, this old dog we had, he was licking my face. Both my eyes were swoll shut. I thought I was blind, I couldn't see nothing. I just laid there and cried. And I didn't know what I was gonna do. But I knew the time had come for me to leave my daddy's house. Suddenly, the world got big, and it was a long time before I could cut it down to where I could handle it. Part of that cutting down was where I got to the place where I could feel him kicking in my blood, and I knew the only thing that separated us was a matter of a few years.I hope he's dead. I hope he found some peace.

Troy : All right, Mr. Death. I tell you what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna take and build me a fence around this yard, see? I'm gonna build me a fence around what belongs to me. And then I want you to stay on the other side. You stay over there till you're ready for me, then you come on. Bring your army, bring your sickle, bring your wrestling clothes. I ain't gonna fall down on my vigilance this time. You ain't gonna sneak up on me no more. When you ready for me, when the top of your list say Troy Maxson, then you come on up and knock on the front door. Ain't nobody else got nothing to do with this. This between you and me. Man to man! You stay on the other side of that fence till you ready for me!

Troy : [to Bono] Rose'll tell you. When I first met her, she ask me if I had gotten all that foolishness out of my system. I said: Baby, it's you and baseball, all what count to me. You hear me, Bono? And I meant it, too. She said: Which one come first? I said: Well, ain't no doubt it's baseball. But you stick and get old with me, and we'll both outlive this baseball! Am I right, Rose? And it's true.

Troy : I spend my money where I'm treated right. I go down to Bella, say, I need a loaf of bread, I'll pay you Friday, she gives it to me. What sense that make when I got money to spend it somewhere else and ignore the person who done right by me? That ain't in the Bible.

Troy : He said nuthin'. He figured the nigger too dumb to know he carryin' a watermelon, he wouldn't get no sense out of 'im. Trying to hide that great big watermelon under his coat. Afraid to let the white man see him carry it on.

The Four Tops' hit version was led by longtime singer Levi Stubbs, and included special co-lead spots by the other Tops, Lawrence Payton, Renaldo "Obie" Benson and Abdul "Duke" Fakir, in that respective order during the chorus. The words tell about the love a man feels for the woman with whom he is having a relationship.

Billboard said that "Levi Stubbs' lead vocal carries the quartet though a moving arrangement which has pop as well as soul overtones. Nice mellow strings give the tune soft lilt as the tale of fond affection unravels."[4] Record World said "Levi Stubbs' voice still brings chills to the spine. Ain't no sound, like the one they've got!"[5]

Like has been used as a conjunction in ways similar to as since the 14th century. In the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries it was used in serious literature, but not often; in the 17th and 18th centuries it grew more frequent but less literary. It became markedly more frequent in literary use again in the 19th century. By mid-century it was coming under critical fire, but not from grammarians, oddly enough, who were wrangling over whether it could be called a preposition or not. There is no doubt that, after 600 years of use, conjunctive like is firmly established. It has been used by many prestigious literary figures of the past, though perhaps not in their most elevated works; in modern use it may be found in literature, journalism, and scholarly writing. While the present objection to it is perhaps more heated than rational, someone writing in a formal prose style may well prefer to use as, as if, such as, or an entirely different construction instead.

Results from a 2013 study support the idea that loving children unconditionally improves their lifelong health and wellness. This suggests parental unconditional love could offer some protection against the harmful, often lingering effects of childhood trauma or abuse.

For fans of good character writing and gore alike, Game of Thrones amassed a cult following that tied all communities together for dozens of fun Sunday evenings. With the television series unfortunately over, there is a massive gap left in the schedule of its most faithful fans. Fortunately enough, there are plenty of anime that can fill the void.

Updated by Lauren Turner on January 20, 2023: Game of Thrones is a wildly popular fantasy television show. With the recent release of the prequel series House of the Dragon, anime fans might want to watch a series that gives them those Westerosi vibes. As such, we've revamped this list with even more information.

For those wanting a little companionship in a dreary, battle-torn world, Akame ga Kill! is a prime candidate. One of the most defining elements of Game of Thrones is the fact that it traps the viewer into loving characters that would suddenly and tragically be killed off, something also exhibited frequently in HotD.

Such narrative betrayal of the fans' hearts is exactly what Akame ga Kill! is about. Each character has a defined past and quirks that guide and support one another to beat an oppressive regime, yet that force manages to overwhelm and take its members seemingly one by one.

For GoT fans really excited about the series' competing factions and alliances, the Fate series has an addictive formula for that down pat. In Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, The Holy Grail is an actual item that requires a single winner in a grand battle royale to claim it. Every so often, talented magi and the descendants of long-running magic and religious families compete to take the holy item.

Fate's magicians summon legendary figures from history and fiction alike called "Servants," who fight in their proxy. With epic fights, reinterpretations of history, and large questions about morality and religion, the Fate series is an obsession all fantasy fans should get into.

Attack on Titan is another series that screams, "Don't get too attached." Attack on Titan is a fantasy drama that brings its high stakes to the unique world of Titans. In a historical timeline shifted by the advent of giant, zombie-like humanoids, humans are forced to reside within a kingdom surrounded by massive walls.

Summoned into a fantastical war that he didn't even volunteer for, Naofumi must represent the most reviled hero of them all, as he struggles to amass followers and just do his job as various competing parties try to sabotage him. With inspiring perseverance, Shield Hero is an underdog story that anyone can get behind.

Game of Thrones is the type of series that would worry school teachers everywhere when they heard their young students talk about it. It's not exactly family programming, and it revels in all of its violence and exploitation. For those whose base urges are still hungry for more, Berserk is the medieval adventure that doesn't struggle to shock its fans.

In a world plagued by barbaric humans and hungry demons, the titular berserker, Guts, is on a rampage to take vengeance on the man who sacrificed him and his comrades to become an actual god. With his seething wrath and massive blade, Guts fights through all manner of surreal, horrifying monsters that can give most Biblical art nightmares. 041b061a72
